Aina Smid lives and works in Ljubljana as an art historian (Faculty of Philosophy, Ljubljana); she also works as contributing editor of an art-design magazine. Along with Marina Grzinic, she has been involved with video art since 1982. They have collaborated on more than 30 video art projects, a short film, and numerous video and media installations; independently they have directed several video documentaries and television productions. Grzinic and Smid have presented and exhibited their videoworks and video installations in more than 100 video festivals around the world and have received several major awards for their video productions.
